Professional Supervision
We offer professional supervision for marriage and family therapists who are working toward licensure or graduation. Available online and in person in Boone, NC and Greenville, NC.
Erin Sesemann, PhD, LMFT, CBIS and Frandrea Brown, PhD, LMFT are AAMFT Approved Supervisors with experience providing supervision to therapists in hospital and community mental health settings.
An interview process and supervision contract is required to establish a supervision agreement. Individual, dyadic, or group supervision will be considered.
Associate-level therapists who are seeking licensure in fields other than Marriage and Family Therapy (e.g., social work) are strongly encouraged to obtain confirmation from their licensure board that supervision hours from an AAMFT Approved Supervisor will be counted toward the requirements for licensure. Unfortunately, Dr. Sesemann cannot provide supervision for licensure in clinical mental health counseling or school counseling.
A Special Note about MedFT Supervision
As medical family therapists, Drs. Sesemann and Brown help their supervisees develop a trauma-informed care practice and gain an understanding about how the health care system (primary, secondary, and tertiary care) affects individuals and families’ mental health and relationships. They offer specialized guidance to therapists who are interested in Medical Family Therapy, integrated care, team-based care, and acquired brain injuries.
Examples of acquired brain injuries:
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Anoxic or hypoxic brain injury
- Brain cancer or tumor resections
- Stroke
- Aneurysm
